Building upon the existing communities of practice and advances in information technologies and global internet solutions, the Future Ocean Alliance™ (FOA) association was established in 2013 to promote a new way of research and sharing ocean knowledge - adding value to current initiatives and working on the gaps- for delivering actionable knowledge and solutions. FOA aims to integrate ocean knowledge and best practices into governance processes via its knowledge sharing network to enhance the sustainable development of the ocean from the local to the global levels, inclusive of local communities. Our constituency are all ocean actors: all ocean actors possess some knowledge that must be synthesized and made available for the benefit of a healthy ocean and the humankind.
